France, bronze cannon form desk clock mounted on a black slate base with brass trim, eight day time only movement with cylinder platform white enamel Roman numeral dial with Arabic five minute markers, blued steel hands, c1890
CONDITION:
Movement not running, fully wound, no power to escapement, hairspring rusty, one movement mounting screw missing, bronze mortar and base appear to have been silvered originally, traces of silver remain, a nice little French industrial type desk clock, Ht 4 3/4" See Derek Roberts "Mystery, Novelty and Fantasy Clocks" chapter 22 for illustrations and more information on this clock
